Beam House Blog

The staff will be sending through a daily update of all the fun and mud from Beam House. Photos will be updated in the gallery below and also sent out on Twitter @BelmontSchoolW4

Monday: Year 6 have safely arrived. There was no vomiting en route and they are now off to embark on their first activity!

Tuesday:

We got off to a great start. Everyone slept like logs and then awoke to the sun shining and birds tweeting.

The PGL breakfast lived up to expectations and with full bellies we all headed off for a morning at the beach.
Three groups then went in and rode the waves like champions as they body-boarded the waves of Westward Ho! Meanwhile, the other two groups enjoyed some fun beach activities.

After another amazing meal, we embarked on mountain biking, high ropes, archery, rifle shooting, airball and the infamous mud challenge.

Tonight we have some Wacky Races to look forward to, finished off with a warming mug of hot chocolate.

Wednesday

This morning, we had to wake the children up as they were so exhausted from all of the previous days' activities. After another hearty breakfast, we were off!

Everyone was on the beach. Jaws was starved again as two groups of our children carved up the waves and had a brilliant time surfing! Meanwhile, the other three groups tore across the sand catching the wind in the sails of the blokarts.

In the afternoon, we had more excitement doing zip wire, trapeze, mountain biking, archery, high ropes and air ball.

The evening was then rounded off with songs around the campfire, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.

Thursday

This morning, all groups headed out to the beach again for surfing and body boarding. The waves were perfect and our future surfers rode them like professionals.

After lunch, the heavens opened however that did not dampen our spirits. We took on: zip wire, mud challenge, rifles, airball, archery and trapeze.

A final visit to the tuck shop for souvenirs  after dinner followed by the much anticipated disco, which lived up to expectations.

We have had a fantastic week with the children. They have been wonderful ambassadors for Belmont, showing great maturity, been polite to everyone here, encouraged one another and had a go at everything. All of the children have made us very proud to be their teachers.
