Singing in the community

Today, both the Junior and Senior Choirs went out to entertain local residents with their repertoire of carols and festive songs.  This morning the Junior Choir sang at Clifton Gardens Resource Centre, just round the corner from School.  The residents much enjoyed renditions of new and old songs including Let it Snow and O Little Town of Bethlehem.  The Little Cradle Rocks and Feliz Navidad got several dancing and clapping along!  In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Senior Choir who visited Mulliner House and provided the entertainment at the end of a special Christmas lunch for senior citizens.  The audience was swelled by office staff who had, we were told, also been much looking forward to the children's performance. The children did Mrs Pocock credit with their part singing in the Carol of the Bells and an impromptu duet with James and Finlo taking the role of Good King Wenceslas.

This was the Senior Choir's third performance of the festive season.  On Saturday 13th December, the children once again joined local adult choir, The Hogarth Singers at their annual carol concert.  This year, the event was filmed for a feature on The Chiswick Calendar website.  Follow the link here to see and hear the children performing.

We also enjoyed joining as a whole school in Christ Church Turnham Green to sing carols on Tuesday morning, where our two choirs led the singing.  We had a little excerpt from the Early Years show A Wriggly Nativity telling the story of Joseph and Mary making their way to Bethlehem by donkey, as well as carols from Years 1 and 2 and a Christmas Cacophony of several songs sung simultaneously by all the Juniors!

We hope to have some photographs of these events to publish before long.
