Y5 Debating Competition

On Tuesday 17th June, James, Ruby, Helen and I went to a debating competition at Cavendish Primary School. Our motion was ‘Should cars be banned from city centres?’. We were against Isleworth Town Primary School and debated well with strong points. Although the floor agreed with us, the proposition, the judges final decision was siding with Isleworth Town. We had a great time listening to everyone else’s debates, such as ‘Should parents be responsible for the crimes their children commit?’ or ‘Should children do chores?’, and we also enjoyed filling up on Oreos and Custard Creams! Overall our time at Cavendish was great fun and we enjoyed making up our script and speaking out to try and win!
