Y5 Trip to Affinity Water Centre
On Tuesday 24th June Year 5 went on a trip to Affinity Water. To start with, we went into the classroom and talked a little bit about recycling water and energy. Then one group went to see the water tanks and my group did experiments. We did three experiments about water. The first one we went to was about what we should and shouldn’t flush down the loo. It involved pouring water into containers and the putting a material on with it. Then we shake it and see what happens to it. The next experiment was ‘what is the best filter?’. G.A.C, sand or gravel. We put dirty water through them and saw which filter was the best. Our final experiment was ‘which one is soft water and which one is hard water-Clay Lane water or Lake District water?’ this was the best experiment in my opinion. After lunch, we went to see the water tanks. We had a quiz and then asked lots of questions. At the very end we got free water bottles and activity booklets. Overall, Affinity Water was one of the best trips in Year 5.
