SEND Teaching Assistant (LSA)
Hours: *16 hours per week x 39 weeks (term time plus inset days). *Additional hours may become available & will be discussed at interview.
Contract: Fixed term (linked to a specific pupil)
Grade: Scale 4: £10,650 per annum - £10,972 per annum, depending on experience
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly skilled practitioner to join our supportive and collaborative Key Stage One team. As a SEND Teaching Assistant (LSA) you will work with the class teacher and other professionals, to deliver provision from an Education, Health and Care Plan. This will be on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Experience of working with autistic pupils and pupils with sensory processing differences is essential.
Belmont Primary is a popular and successful local school in West London with a caring, purposeful ethos and children who love learning. The role involves working in partnership to provide a high quality education to ensure that children can maximise their learning potential.
Applicants are expected to have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. It is also a requirement of the job that practitioners have sound literacy and numeracy skills and are able to teach phonics and maths guided by the class teacher. Candidates should also be IT literate with the basic software applications. The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative and enthusiastic, a good communicator with a friendly disposition who enjoys working collaboratively within a team.
