Voluntary Contribution Scheme

The Voluntary Contribution Scheme (VCS) is a means of receiving donations to help provide additional income for our school from parents and carers, alumni, friends from the community and further afield.

The VCS income stream is directed at core school costs, with the exception of staff payroll. It is distinct from PTA fundraising, which is directed strictly towards additional enrichment, equipment and specific capital projects.

Parent Volunteers

We welcome parents and carers into school to help in a range of volunteering roles.  Some typical roles might be:

  • Librarians
  • Gardeners
  • One to one readers with children
  • Helpers with displays
  • Speakers for enrichment weeks
  • Helpers on school trips

THE
HIVE

The Hive is Belmont’s before and after school club which is available every day for all children from Reception to Year 6.  The scheme provides a safe and fun, nurturing environment for children and is based in our canteen building.

Children can come regularly, or as drop-ins and may start from their first day in reception. Reception children will be given a key worker to settle them in to the scheme.

Breakfast Club:
7.45am until school starts, every morning

After School:
3.25pm to 6.00pm every day

SCHOOL
CLUBS

We have an excellent range of school clubs on offer for our children, giving them the the opportunity to benefit from learning new skills to enrich their curriculum.

Clubs include a huge variety of sports, well-being, music, arts, languages, cookery and crafts.  Most clubs run after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, and a few run before school starts.

Clubs are mainly run by experienced external providers and a few are run by teachers. All club leaders have enhanced DBS checks and we also assess the quality of our clubs each term through observations, as well as via feedback from the children and parents.

SCHOOL
MEALS

Our school meals are made fresh on site each day by our dedicated team of cooks from Accent.

Children can choose a meat or vegetarian main meal each day. There is also choice of jacket potatoes, vegetables, side dishes, salad bar, pudding and fruit.

Meals are booked in advance via ParentPay each day.  Children will choose their meal at the counter. Parents and carers are encouraged to discuss dietary preferences with their children beforehand.
