Times Tables Challenge
We will begin the Times Tables Challenge in the Summer Term now that we have covered multiplication and division in class. We will do two weeks of in class practice (untimed) and then begin to time the challenge. Some children find timing of maths questions a bit more challenging but we are not putting any pressure on any children to pass their challenge.
Please talk to your child about trying their best and remind them that we are looking for progress, even if it is in very small steps, not racing to pass every week. Each child will be at a different stage in their times table journey and that is okay.
Gardening
We have changed out timetable around a little and have moved Gardening to Friday mornings. In the Summer term we will move into doing Forest School again.
Lunches
Please can you make sure you have booked your child’s school lunches on MCAS. This also includes packed lunches.
Glue Sticks – Send a glue stick in with your child as we are extremely low on these and use them daily.
Home School Partnership 2025 – Thank you to those who attended our Home School Partnership Evening. We have uploaded the slides to the class Google Classroom in the Classwork section – Parents Topic.
Phonics Presentation Autumn 2025 – Thank you to those who attended our Phonics presentation in Aut 1. We have uploaded the slides to the class Google Classroom in the Classwork section – Parents Topic.
PASSWORD Log in sheets – New log in sheets have been provided so please use the up to date copy. Most are the same as before but some log in passwords/username have to change each year so please note that you have a new Little Wandle eCollins log in for reading books and a new Discovery QR code.
Books including sharing books, Little Wandle (physical and eCollins), homework books and library books have all been given out every Thursday so please check your child’s bag. Please return these every Wednesday morning.
We are going to be setting homework and changing books on Thursdays in Year 2. We will see how this works going forward as it is different to the arrangements last year.
Please except the invitation to your child’s class via Google Classroom and check this noticeboard regularly.
