Welcome to the Year Two Notice Board
Year 2 Trip to Bournemouth Beach and the Oceanarium on Thursday 2nd July 2026
As part of our Water, Water Everywhere! topic, Year 2 will be visiting the Bournemouth Oceanarium (aquarium) on Thursday 2nd July 2026.
Please ensure you have given consent and paid on MCAS.
We will be travelling by coach and would like the children to be in school by 07.45am so we can register them and depart shortly after. We expect to return by around 4.30pm, however if there are any delays due to traffic the School Office will let you know of any changes.
We will eat our packed lunches on the beach and then the children will be allowed to paddle in the sea (up to their knees) with strict supervision, if the conditions on the day allow it. They will also be able to build sandcastles and play in the sand!
Children can come dressed in their Belmont PE kit if the weather forecast for the day is good. A sunhat and suncream are highly recommended.
The children will need a healthy snack, a packed lunch (No nuts, glass bottles or things that might melt in lunches) and a water bottle. If your child requires any medication, (inhalers or epipens) they will also need to bring them with them.
- Please can each child bring £4.00 as we would like to take the children for an ice-cream or lolly after having lunch and play time on the beach before setting off on our journey back to school.
Please make us aware of any health considerations that we may not already be aware of e.g. travel sickness and ensure you have given consent and paid on MCAS.
Glue Sticks – Send a glue stick in with your child as we are extremely low on these and use them daily.

Times Tables Challenge
We began the Times Tables Challenge now that we have covered multiplication and division. We have done in class practice (untimed) and will now begin to time the challenge. Some children find timing of maths questions a bit more challenging but we are not putting any pressure on any children to pass their challenge.
Please talk to your child about trying their best and remind them that we are looking for progress, even if it is in very small steps, not racing to pass every week. Each child will be at a different stage in their times table journey and that is okay. We have given out log in information to access Times Tables Rock Stars if you want something to help practice getting speedier at multiplication recall.
Gardening
We have changed out timetable around a little and have moved Forest School to Friday mornings.
Lunches
Please can you make sure you have booked your child’s school lunches on MCAS. This also includes packed lunches.
