In our Year 1 history lesson, the children became history detectives, exploring the present by investigating toys they brought in from home. Each child shared their favourite toy and asked questions such as “What is my toy made of?” and “How do I play with it?” They compared their toys with one another, and discussed how they work. Through this activity, the children learned that by looking closely at everyday objects — like their own toys — they can discover fascinating clues about life today.
