Y5 took part in a project called Road to Riat. It is a STEM activity day organised by The Smallpiece Trust in
partnership with The Royal Air Force. The children were given the task of designing, making and testing gliders.
They took part in online, live lessons to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to become engineers
for the day. At the end of the day Y5 were also provided with information regarding sustainable energy and how
STEM engineers of the future could help the world be a better place. The whole day linked really well to our Y5
science units for the Spring Term, Space and Forces.
