(SEND)

At Belmont, we believe that all of our children have an equal right of access to a broad and balanced curriculum which enables them to achieve educational success and reach their full potential. We use our best endeavours to meet each child’s needs and make reasonable adjustments in order for them and their families to fully participate in the life of the School.

All teaching staff are involved in the learning and development of pupils with SEND. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning, special educational needs or disability. Phase Leaders are also available if further support is needed.

The school’s Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCO) is Mrs Jenny Nicholas. Mrs Sarah Boyadjian is Deputy Head and Designated Mental Health Lead.

This is a dedicated service for parents and carers of children with disabilities or special needs in the Borough of Hounslow. They offer monthly coffee mornings across Hounslow. Details can be found on their website in the ‘Events’ section. They also have an excellent ‘Resources’ tab.

Parental Support for Anxiety and/or Behaviour Difficulties

If you would like support for your child presenting with mild to moderate anxiety or behavioural difficulties, please speak to Mrs Nicholas (SENCO). We can refer to Hounslow’s Mental Health Support Team (MHST). This is a service that works with parents – to support parents in helping their child.

CAMHS

CAMHS stands for child and adolescent mental health service. This service provides mental health assessment and treatment for children and young people aged 0 to 18, and support for their families in Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Hounslow. CAMHS includes a neurodevelopmental team that can diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders.
