Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Belmont Primary School .
We recognise that pupils will use these technologies outside school and need to learn how to take care of their own safety and security. We fully acknowledge our responsibilities for online safety, including a responsibility to educate our pupils about the benefits and risks of using new technology and the provision of safeguards and information for all users to enable them to control their online experiences.
Our school aims to:
- Have robust processes in place to ensure the online safety of pupils, staff, volunteers and governors
- Identify and support groups of pupils that are potentially at greater risk of harm online than others
- Deliver an effective approach to online safety, which empowers us to protect and educate the whole school community in its use of technology, including mobile and smart technology (which we refer to as ‘mobile phones’)
- Establish clear mechanisms to identify, intervene and escalate an incident, where appropriate
Acceptable Use Policy
Parents, pupils and staff are required to fill out an Acceptable Use form to ensure they understand the risks and sanctions relating to the misuse of the system in and beyond the school. Please find the link to the pupil form below.
