| Reading | Daily (15-20 mins)
Please ensure that all books are recorded in the yellow reading record along with the dates that reading has taken place. Please sign/initial these entries. Comments about the book and your child’s reading are welcomed. Three comments per week is ideal. Reading records are checked on Mondays but reading for pleasure books can be changed on any day. Library day is on Tuesdays for Elm and Wednesdays for Willow. Children may return finished books on this day and change them for a new one. Children may borrow books from the Junior Library. Please note that children are responsible for changing their own books.

| Grammar & Punctuation | Please complete pages 37 (Capital letters for I) and pages 12-13 (Clauses). Please return CGP Grammar books every Tuesday for marking. They will then be returned to the children on Wednesday. Please ensure that your child does not complete any other pages. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Spelling | Here are the spellings for this week. They will be tested in class on the following Wednesday (14th October). There are two spelling groups. If your child is in group 2, they will have been told this by their teacher and will have been given a copy of the spellings to bring home to practice. All other children need to practice the group 1 spellings.
Group 1 – Words with the long /ei/ sound, spelt with ‘ey’.
Group 2 – Words with the sounds /l/, /k/ and /z/ spelt with ‘ll’, ‘zz’ and ‘ck’.

| Maths | MyMaths homework is set every Wednesday to be completed by the following Wednesday – See Google Classroom for the link to MyMaths. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Times Tables | We will begin reintroducing the times tables tests in class next week in an informal, untimed way to give the children some practice before we being timing them again. This will likely be after the half term break.
