2016 was the first year in which children were assessed against the new curriculum at the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) and Key Stage 1 (Year 2).  The children had formal assessments in reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling and maths and their class teachers also assessed the children in reading, writing and maths using classwork and on-going assessments from across the school year, using national criteria provided by the Department for Education.

The DfE has stressed that results this year are not comparable to previous years, as the curriculum has changed. Information about children's achievements nationally and locally will be added to this page as it becomes available.
