Brain Tumour Charity day

Our school turned into a sea of red in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity on Tuesday 2nd February.  We wore red to show our support for the charity and enjoyed fun activities including a treasure hunt and guessing the goodies in a jar.  After school, the whole community gave generously to the cake sale and book stall.

Whilst this day was lots of fun for the children, it was also sad as the event was the creation of Grace and Alex, to remember their mum who tragically died last summer, aged 45.  The children planned the day with Mrs Flitter and worked closely with the Brain Tumour Charity, who their mum actively supported.  The children organised everything, with help from their friends.  They even gave an assembly with a fundraiser from the charity, to explain their reasons to raise money for this cause.

The whole school community supported the children and an incredible £2000 was raised for the charity.  The charity fund research and support individuals and families of those living with a tumour.
