Junior Sports Day

There was rain at 8am despite the forecast, but the sun eventually came out for Junior Sports day on Wednesday. The Juniors made their way to the Back Common and took part in a series of activities and races. It all gets a bit more competitive in the Juniors and the children wear the colours of the houses they belong to. They are awarded ribbons for coming first, second and third and then the points are allocated to their house. Chiswick was victorious this year and Gunnerbury won the relay race.

Then it was time for the parents to take part, and this year we added in a beanbag. Placed on their heads, they had to balance it whilst making their way down the track. The cheers of the children were deafening and the tactics deployed by the parents with this added complexity, were very amusing to watch!

Finally the teachers and TAs took part in an egg and spoon race with a difference. Instead of the spoon we opted for a kitchen utensil and there was a whisk, tongs, spoons, ladels and even a potato masher! It was a close one but Mr Lamming won!

Here is what Roshni had to say:

On Wednesday 17thof June the juniors had their sports day! Everyone enjoyed sports day.

There  were different activities  such as the bean bag throw, football dribbles, tennis ball relay, races and much much more! Alongside the sports we also had a picnic where you could sit with your parents or a friends parent

and enjoy the dayJ. As well as the children’s races there where also Mum's race, a Dad's race and a teachers race! The teachers race was very close but Mr Lamming won! After a long day of activities we went back to school to enjoy for the next 2 hours. 2 days later we found the winner for sports day witch was Chiswick!  The winner of the house relay was Gunnersbury;  both houses received a magnificent cup!
