Sport Relief 2014: Belmont hopping record!

Whilst there were many football kits to be seen this morning, the children took the opportunity to dress up in all sorts of other sports outfits from karate to ice skating, gymnastics to ballet. The playground was a fiesta of colour and excitement as the children got ready for the big hop.

To start their day there was an obstacle course set up which they had to complete at speed in teams. This got them ready for the afternoon and Belmont's attempt at setting a new world record for the largest number of people hopping  on one leg for more than 10 seconds!

Thanks go to Mr Coyle and Miss Hitchcock for co-ordinating the day, and to the coaches from Aktiva for running the obstacle races.  Miss Todd has to get a mention for her enthusiasm in leading the warm up and hop...and the dancing afterwards. The children have learnt some new disco moves!

Watch the children and staff break the world record on this (amateur) clip:
