Y5 visit to the Science Museum

On Friday 3rd February, Year 5  went to the Science Museum. It was a long train journey but we eventually got there. We walked for 5 minutes and then arrived at a massive white building with two white pillars by the entrance. As soon as were allowed to explore the museum freely, my group went to see Helen Sharman and Neil Armstrong’s space suit (they were very small).  It was amazing to see some of the things we have been learning about in our Earth and Space unit. Next we strolled to the other stations which told us more about how astronauts live in space.

After lunch everyone then went down stairs and saw an IMAX movie all about space - it was amazing, We all wore big glasses so everything was in 3D. The movie was about the solar system, our universe and the International Space Station. The special effects were incredible, all the children were trying to touch the stars and planets as they all seemed so real! We also learnt about what we are doing to the planet and climate change. When the movie was over we all had our last explore around the museum.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Science Museum.  Thanks Miss Kay, Mr Grigg and all the parent helpers!
