Staff

Belmont has a very strong and dedicated teaching staff, which is valued by parents and children alike. We have a  stable team with highly experienced class teachers in each year group and are also fortunate to have teachers who cater for children with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language, as well as a part-time French teacher.

The Senior Leadership Team consists of the Head, Deputy Head,  two Assistant Heads - one looking at inclusion, the other specialises in the development of the curriculum. There are three Phase leaders who manage Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 and the School Business Manager.

In addition, we have a committed team of teaching assistants and Early Years practitioners who support children's learning, working alongside the classroom teachers and providing a range of intervention programmes to meet children's needs. We also have someone who teaches one of the class PE lessons each week, as well as co-ordinating competitive sport and promoting active play at lunchtimes.

We also have a number of support staff who manage everything from the welfare of the children and supervision of lunchtimes, to ensuring the safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the site,  the management of data and our financial management. This team is led by our School Business Manager who works closely with the Head, Deputy and Assistant Heads to make their ideas and vision a reality on a practical level.

Peripatetic teachers visit the school each week to teach music and trained coaches from our sports partnership, Sports Impact, provide specialist coaching for PE and games, working alongside class teachers.

We review our staffing structure regularly to make the most of the staff we have and use their skills to the best effect. The professional development of our staff is also critical and something that we actively promote.  We have a strong local schools partnership in Chiswick which enables us to learn from each other, sometimes train together and share ideas.  We benefit from the fact that several of our staff have the level of experience and expertise to act as moderators within Hounslow which also helps us to develop our partnerships with other schools.
